Disgrifiad o´r Safle Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn is a settlement centred on a substantial medieval cruciform church with imposing crossing tower (St Michael's church, NPRN 105145). There is also a chapel (Penuel Baptist Chapel, NPRN 7300), and a number of 18th and early 19th century cottages.
Llanfihangel-y-creuddyn, along with Herbrandston and Colwinston, is one of three so-called "Thankful Villages" in Wales and one of 51 in the United Kingdom. These are villages with no traditional war memorial because all who left to fight in the First World War (1914-18) were lucky enough to return home.
