Date stone inscribed 'C H 1690' moved from the ruins of the old Cwm Berwyn house across the road to the modern Cwm Berwyn house, where it was built upside down into the northern wall. 'Initials are probably of Charles Herbert who lived at Pontsheriff, between 1680 and 1692 (D. C. Ress).'
