Disgrifiad
A promontory fort located on the east edge of the gorge of the Afon Cwm-mawr. The land rises gradually from the east towards the edge of the gorge. The site is bounded on the north and west by the sides of the gorge and on the south by a moderately steep slope. On the east it is bounded by a curving bank, badly spread by ploughing, about 1.2 metres high. There is some evidence of an outer ditch at the north end of this bank, but the remains are very slight. The south side is also bounded by a bank which seems to have been altered later to form a field boundary as it is much sharper in definition, and is continued eastwards in a similar form. A 4 metre long section of revetment walling at the east end of the bank seems to lead into this eastern extension rather than be related to the north-eastern continuation of the ancient bank, and is probably of later date. There is a gap about 14 metres wide, possibly an entrance, in the corner between the east and south banks. There is a slight inward-facing counterscarp to the edge of the gorge on the north and west sides, but this may be related to the later field bank on the south.
The enclosed area measures some 85 metres (north-east to south-west) by 40 metres.
