The former Recabite Hall in Lion Street was built during the early seventeenthe century and later converted for use as the Red Lion Inn. The Victorian style shopfront, now known as No 41 Lion Street is at the east end of a row of gable-ended frontages. The Grade 2 Listed site is now an asymmetrical 2 storey building with an attic. The interior of the grocers shop retains stop chamfered beams and has a flat above accessed from No 40.
