Begun in 1820 with improvements made in c1880 including installation of central heating. The present building replaced an C18 house. Simple Classical 2-storey country house with hipped slate roof. 12 and 15-pane sash windows. Main front to S is 7-bays. Further 7-bay N elevation, and 6 bay rear to east with single-storey service ranges. Well-preserved neo-classical interiors with good detailing including cornices, panelled doors, reveals and shutters. The dining room is of particular interest for its exceptionally early central heating datig from 1880.
