1.Early 19th century Lead Mine. Aerial photography has revealed trials along an east to west vein on the Eglwyseg Rock escarpment. Adits appear to lead in to workings on the rock face.

2.OAN site visit 2002/06/12/PJS. OAN field survey, located by GPS to an accuracy of +/- 1m. West end is SJ2194344832, East end is SJ2217744764. Disused shafts seen on current OS mapping. There is a cluster of six shafts for lead mining. These are up to 5m in diameter by a maximum of 3.5m deep with upcast spoil heaps around them. All but one shaft has collapsed and been capped, the surviving shaft has a circular drystone lining and descends up to 2m down until it collapses. Further to the east can be seen evidence of a lead rake running across the hill from the cluster of shafts up the crag on to the next terrace the rake has been exploited close to the surface in places. Further to east are located two more clusters of three or more shafts with upcast spoil. These are approximately of the same dimensions as the others. All mine areas are associated with the trackway (NMR 269065) running to the south which descends the crags to Dinbren-uchaf.

3. Documentary evidence refers to leases for lead and copper on the Eglywyseg rocks on the Wynnstay Estates from as early as 1771.
