A single storey building with attics, thought to be seventeenth century or perhaps earlier. It lies just east of the seventeenth century mansion of Marl Hall (NPRN 16510) and would presumably have been an anciliary or service building. When the Hall was a convalescent home this was the Warden's residence. Its present role and condition are unknown.
The building is walled in plastered stone rubble under a slate gabled roof, with a large chimney stack against the north-western gable wall. It faces south-west where it has a doorway flanked by windows, all modern. The upper storey is lit by three windows, each under a small cross gable.
