The cottage is dated 1835, and appears to be one of the earliest buildings constructed by the third Lord Newborough in the first phase of the replanning of Llandwrog as an estate village between 1830s and 1860s.

It is a single storey cottage built in the picturesque Gothic style typical of this phase of rebuilding. Built of irregulary coursed rubblestone with ashlar dressings to the outer arch of the porch, and with reddish brown brick dressings to the window openingsand chimneystacks. There is a slate roof with coped verges and deeply overhanging eaves with slate soffits.

The central, gabled, porch has the datestone "1835" above the outer depressed pointed arch, and a ledged inner door with a galzed panel to a timber tympanum. To either side of the porch is a three-light timber mullion and transom window with cambered heads and dripmoulds. There are integral stacks to either end, and a ridgestack to the left f the porch, all with rendered bases and moulded capping. To the rear is a narrow lean-to and lower ranges.
