Troy House, Mitchel Troy, is a 17th century stone building of 3 storey and dormers. It has a hipped slate roof. The central portion is forward with a pediment. The interior includes fine plaster work and panelling. It was the seat of Dukes of Beaufort.

In 1904 the Sisters of the Good Shepherd took possession of the house for use as a convent school; and subsequently, with the financial assistance of the Home Office from 1935, as an Approved School.
