Ysgubor Uchaf stands alongside the farm lane which led eastwards from Cwmbychan Bach farm to the hill pastures to the east. Two ruined buildings are now seen here, separated by a narrow yard area.
The northern building is a relatively complicated stone building, in a ruinous condition when visited late in 2022. The building first appears on the Darowen parish tithe map, 1846. It is likely therefore to be of mid-19th century date. It is likely that this building was originally constructed as a cowhouse.
