This record consists of a documentary reference to shipping casualty that has assigned to the named location CEFN SIDAN SANDS pending more information becoming available which may allow a more precise location for the loss to be assigned.

Event and Historical Information:
The PEGGY was a wooden smack built at Gillingham, Kent, in 1804. Technical and configuration specifications are given as 29tons burthen; 41.2ft length x 14.6ft breadth x 6.6ft depth; one deck, one mast, rigged with a running bowsprit, square stern, carvel built. At the time of loss, the smack was owned by John Sutton of Aberavon, mariner; Anne Sutton of Aberavon, spinster; William Sutton of the parish of St Luke, Middlesex, joiner; and Elizabeth Thomas of Bristol, tallow chandler. The smack ran aground in Carmarthen Bay and subsequently was broken up in November 1836.
