The "Concrete Road" running across the Dry Firing Area at SENTA was built in 1944 by Italian Prisoners of War, who were housed in the temporary camp Cwm Owen, NPRN 242347. The road was well constructed with numerous brick culverts under the road and drains alongside it. The surface was concrete originally, hence the name, but in the more recent past tarmac has been laid down on top if it. J.J. Hall, Trysor, 29 May 2008
