The quarry is on a north-facing slope, in the southwest corner of a sheepfold or enclosure, with a stream lying 15m to the east. The quarry is scoop-shaped. It is excavated into level ground and has a depth of 1.2m. It would appear that the quarry was formed to extract walling stone. Quarrying made into a natural outcrop of limestone to create walling stone for the sheepfold / enclosure and adjacent hut. The ground cover was bracken at the time of survey. B. Britton and G.
