One of a small number of complex multicellular sheepfolds, characteristic of Snowdonia common land. This example is quite well built with walls of single course drystone construction with vertically set capstones remaining in a few places. Height of walls averages 1.3m. it consists of 17 compartments plus a further 6 or 7 in ruinous condition interconnected by low openings with lintels. The adjacent stream has a dammed portion to provide a deep pool for washing prior to shearing a funnel shaped addition leads down to this from the fold complex (plan of site under Site 46042). Overall dimensions: 47m x 45m. 390m above O.D.
