The gatehouse to the old house at Cefnamwlch (NPRN 26238), which was demolished in the earlier nineteenth century.
This is a two storey building of coursed rubble with well made quoins. It has a slate gabled roof with cross gables above the entrance arches on the west and east. The cross gables contain two light mullioned windows and above the western (outer) arch is a tablet with a relief armorial carving with the date 1607. Double doors with a wicket gate are hung at the centre of the passage with recessed seats to either side. The upper room is reached by an external stair on the south.
