Event and Historical Information:
The MONA was 36nt wooden smack built in 1837. At time of loss on 1 December 1883, the smack was owned by J Thomas of Beaumaris and registered at that port. The MONA was carrying cast-iron ingots from Bowling to Runcorn under the command of master R Williams when it stranded on the West Hoyle Bank.
