This record comprises a documentary reference to a shipping casualty which has been assigned to the maritime named location CAERNARFON BAY pending more information which may allow a more precise location for the loss to be assigned.

Event and Historical Information:
The POLLY was a wooden sailing vessel belonging to the port of Greenock, which was on passage from Cork to Liverpool. The report printed in Lloyds List on 2 February 1790 noted the master's name as McKay and that the vessel was on shore in Caernarfon Bay and full of water.
