Nantclwyd Hall is originally seventeenth century, with the south front refashioned by Clough Wm Ellis. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and there are two storey slate roof transomed casements.
A private gasworks was likely to have been installed whilst it was the private residence of Herbert Naylor-Leyland (1864–99).
