Cofnod Safle

This large rectangular barn/byre measuring 9m long by 5m wide. The double-thickness drystone walls comprise of large unworked stones that have been built into irregular courses that measure 0.80m wide and 1.5m high. The structure is built upon a terrace cut into the hillslope with as northern retaining wall. It is overlain by a north/south orientated field wall. It is shown, but not named, on the 1st Edition OS mapping and is also shown on the current OS mapping. P.J. Schofield, Oxford Archaeology North, 30th January 2006
