Caerhowell Hall is a later eighteenth century three-storey house with additions of 1891 (according to a datestone). It was probably built for the Harrison family of which Robert J. Harrison, who died in 1819, was the father of the Rev. R.J. Harrison, vicar of Forden, and grandfather of Major R.J. Harrison (1852-96), the first mayor of Montgomery after the 1885 incorporation.

The estate was offered for sale in 1912 and was occupied in the early twentieth century by Col. Pryce-Jones of Newtown and in the 1920s by Major Sir Harmood Harmood-Banner, High Sheriff in 1920 and mayor of Montgomery between 1928-31. The house was divided into flats in the late twentieth century but was being restored to a single house in 2005.

Constructed of dark red brick laid in Flemish bond, with slate hipped roofs, the house is three storeys and has a five-bay front elevation of 2-1-2 bays, the slightly projected wider centre bay with an open pediment.
