Excavated moated site. A platform 36.6m square raised slightly above surrounding level, faint traces of an external ditch on S and E. Eroded prior to its excavation which indicated a sequence of halls, occupied from late 12thC to 15thC when a stone manor house was built nearby.
There was also an associated settlement, long deserted.
Spoil from the excavations is still visible and material from a nearby housing development (to the E) has been dumped upon the site. The whole is densely overgrown making the outline of the site barely discernible.
