DisgrifiadCurrently part of Corus, formerly British Steel, Trostre Works was established in 1947, involving the demolition of several farmhouses and cottages in the area. One of the farmhouses, Maes-ar-ddafen-fach or Maesarddafen Fach (nprn 415849), was restored as an eighteenth-century cottage and remains within the steelworks site. In 2000, Trostre Works specialised in coating (tinplating) coil steel produced at Llanwern (nprn 86821) and Port Talbot (nprn 91392) steelworks.
