1748-52. A cluster of small smelting-houses on an ornamental plan. Three round pavilions held the main furnace compliment of 24 reverbatory furnaces while a fourth contained four of the larger calcining furnaces. The octagonal refinery at the middle of the works probably contained four specialist refining furnaces.
