Grounds and gardens associated with the late seventeenth century mansion of Tros-y-marian (NPRN 15911). Its layout and many of its features appear to be original. It is depicted in some detail on the OS County series 1st edition (Anglesey XV.1 1889).
There are several walled formal gardens (NPRN 15913). The house faces south-east where the appears to be a forecourt. Beyond this a long (90m) and narrow walled garden or pleasance runs down to a summerhouse, once ruined and now restored (NPRN 310181).
There are smaller square enclosures north-east and south-west of the house and forecourt, the latter providing access from the stable yard and the main approach. The stable yard has an eighteenth century stable (NPRN 31100) dividing it from the farmyard to the west (see NPRN 31099, 310186) and a fine pair of ornate gatepiers marking the end of the drive (NPRN 15912). This runs in from the public road some 300m to the south, opposite Ty'n-y-gate.
On the north-east side of the long garden is a much larger rectangular walled(?) orchard, and to its south-west a less regular shrubbery or wilderness with a central lawn(?). There is a second possible shrubbery or grove, beyond the garden north-east of the house.
The service yard lies beyond the stable yard on the south-west side of the house. The farmyard has a prominent dovecote (NPRN 31099).
