Porbably originated in the 18th century as a smallholders house, with alterations made in the late 19th century. It consists of a two-storey house and byre under a continuous roofline built of red brick in an irregular bond with a slate roof, dentile cornice and brick chimneys.

The house has two simple casement windows per floor, those to the ground floor with cambered heads and those to the first floor with flat heads. An entrance with a trellised porch is slightly off-set to the left, and sits between the windows. Internally it has a traditional plan with a notional cross-passage dividing the main room from two service rooms, one of which was used as a pantry and has slate shelves. The ceiling has beams of 18th century character, and there are boarded doors with strap hinges surviving.

The byre to the right, has a simple boarded door to the right, and the right hand return elevation has a circular pitching eye in the gable end. The rear elevation has another entrance with a boarded door, and a small extension.
