1. Craig-y-Ddinas promontory fort is situated on a long narrow limestone ridge north east of Pontneddfechan; the remains consist of two banks. The site is naturally defended by sheer cliffs, however, there has been much quarrying for silica, particularly at the west end and on the north edge of the ridge.

Site visited B.A.Malaws, RCAHMW, 1978.

2. 'The footpath crossing the main rampart and ditch (at the north-east end of the promontory fort) is causing considerable erosion and has revealed a substantial core of drystone rubble' - Paul Davis, 2020
