Wayside station on the Central Wales Railway (nprn 291119), originally opened in 1858 as the terminus of the Vale of Towy Railway's line from Llandeilo, later run jointly by the Great Western and London & North Western Railways. The LNWR's Central Wales Extension line joined end-on in 1868, when alterations were made to the station layout and buildings.
