DisgrifiadRCAHMW Caernarvonshire Inventory Vol. I, p.152: "Cairn, Bwlch Cowlyd. A low mound 17ft in diameter, with a central hollow and stones visible in places. The cist which Lowe figures is no longer preserved." Shown as a boundary marker labelled "cist faen" on Llanllechid Tithe Map 1842.
The site is a circular cairn measuring 4.8m diameter, 0.4m high of grassed over stone with a circular hollow at its centre. Slight erosion caused by a minor path from a stile running to the west.
