DisgrifiadThe promontory fort at Pen-y-Gaer is trivallate on the NW, with partially scarped natural slopes completing the enclosure. A terraced track on the S giving access to the fort seems likely to be recent and not an original entrance. The strength of the defences make this site, in contrast to nearby Caerau Gaer (Nprn304246), an agreed hillfort.
