A possibly natural water-filled hollow, protected by a modern masonary hood. It is associated with St Brynach's Chapel (NPRN 422391), which is thought to have adjoined the well chamber. The site may be early medieval in origin. Fenton referred to 'a redundant spring, close to the ruins of an old chapel, having an upright rood stone pitched on end near it, rudely marked with a cross'.
