2. 'Two ruined rectangular buildings in an L-shaped arrangement, occupying a shelf on the east facing slopes of Foel Cwmcerwyn. The larger one, which is downhill-sited (east-west), was presumably a cottage. The other building does not appear on the tithe map and is therefore later. It is much longer and aligned across the slope (north-south); presumably it was a barn or cowshed. There are lazy beds just uphill of the cottage. Both buildings lie within an angular arrangement of walled fields, which does not suggest a date much earlier than 1800.'
