APs show a counterscarp on the N & W of the motte ditch, as well as a rectangular ditched enclosure, c.30-40m across, abutting on the E, a return for its ditch being depicted on OS County Series (1881), which shows a conifer clump & an OS trig. pillar on the motte top.
