The church consists of a nave, with west bell-turret and south porch, north aisle and chancel.  It is of long-wall entry and was possibly built in a mixture of Gothic Perpendicular and Decorated styles. A blocked arch in the west wall was considered to be Norman. The church was demolished to within 1.0m of the ground in 1960-62.

A cross head from the church can be related to a possible cross to the south, although the site is now covered by the A49T embankment. Wall paintings recorded at the church include a painted rood figure discovered in 1850.
