DisgrifiadA bridge across the River Ely was here as early as 1536: Leckwith Old Bridge (NPRN 24126), a three-arch stone bridge, still stands but alongside it, taking the present traffic, is a reinforced concrete single arch opened on 17 April 1935 by the then Minister of Transport Leslie Hore-Belisha. A concrete viaduct continues the road on the south side on to the hillside.
