DisgrifiadLike numbers 58?59 (NPRN 307735) to the east, number 53 is one of the original buildings of Mount Stuart Square, built c.1855?6 likely to the design of Alexander Roos. The dramatic difference in height and ornamentation of this two-storey structure with the surrounding buildings demonstrates the architectural changes of the area. The first storey is rusticated with a square window to the right of a doorway with a segmental fanlight within a round-headed arch. The second storey has two square-headed windows orientated to the right of centre.
