Foel Fraith Tramway and Incline. A narrow-gauge tramway built after 1875, to connect the various limestone and silica and sandstone quarries at Foel Fraith (SN763175) with limekilns near Henllys Vale Colliery and a standard-gauge siding serving the colliery (SN76191373). The lower part of the tramway was in the form of an inclined plane about 2300m long and at gradients of 1 in 9, 1 in 11 and 1 in 6. The upper drum of the incline was at SN76311618, and from there the tramway ran at a rising gradient of about 1 in 53 to the quarries. The section between the incline head and the quarries was dismantled by 1906 but relaid again before the 1930s.
