Three furnaces were originally built at the site in 1788-9, only one of these survives although framents of the others remain. A further two furnaces were added to the site in 1810, and both survive today. The sixth furnace, added in 1860, was removed in 1930 and only its buried base survives. Square furnaces of brick and stone construction, tapering towards the top, although not surviving to full height. Of group interest with other listed buildings at Blaenavon Ironworks (nprn 34134).
