Cropmark of a complex linear feature, running generally E-W for 450m along the summit of the Downs close to Tair Onen The feature is composed of a number of strands, c.60m across overall, generally appearing to consist of double/triple banks & ditches flanking a c.20m central strip, itself containing less prominant linear features.
The feature follows the supposed line of ther Roman road running from Caerleon (Nprn307253), although it does not overtly display the characteristics of such a road, although earlier/later usage should be considered. The whole could be interpreted as a road/trackway flanked by boundary dykes.
