DisgrifiadA pair of earth closets to the rear of 'Highgate' (NPRN 26194), the boyhood home and death place of Lloyd George. The words of the poet were never more apt, 'and shall these mute stones speak'.
The privies are depicted on the early editions of the OS County series (Caernarvon. XXXIII.16 1888, 1900, 1918), where they both stand within the garden of Highgate. On a Council plan of 1985 the boundary has shifted and one privy now stands within the garden of 'Ty Canton' (NPRN 26329). The garden boundary has now reverted to its original configuration.
