Disgrifiad

First mentioned in Edward Lhuyd's Parochial Queries c.1698:

"Y rhai hynod, the most remarkable, Ffynnon Assa, hon medh rhai sy'n lenewi ag yn troio ond ni welais dhim tebig i hynny er dal sylw 9 awr. Richard Parry pf Pwlh-Alog Esq sett neat pillars about it. The spring is near as large as that of Holywell, and turns a mill just by."

The spring is now a part of a modern reservoir and no evidence of any structure is visible. The name suggests the well was dedicated to St Asaph.

Record enhanced as a part of the AHRC-funded Visualizing the Welsh Saints Project.
