A number of lead mines dating from at least 18th century. Some tunnels are supposedly Roman. Roman bricks said to have been found.

2. An extensive area of mineworkings located in the upper Clywedog valley and to the south of Dylife.
The remains include hushing channels at several locations connected to small leats and reservoirs, possibly the earliest features on site. Other remains represent a complex pattern of later reworking in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, including shafts with horse whim circles, a Boundary Shaft with the remains of its Cornish engine house, and levels, enclosures, building platforms and tips.
The proximity of a Roman fortlet has led to suggestions of Roman or earlier origins for these workings.
