1. Constructed certainly on or before 1796 (when it was said to have cut through a sea wall) to take coal from levels at Ffrwd and Coed Rhial (the latter via a short branch) to a shipping place constructed at Pil Towyn near Kidwelly. At a later date is appears to have been linked to the Pembrey and then Kidwelly & Llanelly canals. Good lengths survive on the east side (although much overgrown with trees and reeds.
2. Eastern end at SN 4244 0277 (Ffrwd), short branch to Coed (built 1805) at SN 4231 0261, and western end at Pill Towyn at SN 4007 0460.
