DisgrifiadAn early horse-drawn railway or tramroad bridge, with moulded copper slag coping and squinch lintels, spans the River Clydach. It has two arches; the smaller arch, on the west side, took the water supply from the pound retained by the adjacent weir (nprn 407294) set across the river. The bridge plan accommodated a very tight double-curve on the railway hence the north-east side of the bridge is corbelled-out to support the deck at that point. The tramroad probably ran to Neath Abbey Ironworks (nprn 85096). There is a charging platform at the top of the bank on the west side of the bridge, which may have been associated with the adjacent quarry.
