Cropmarks show a ring ditch or plough-levelled round barrow, c.20m diameter, with a central grave pit, overlain by several linear ditches of a wider-spreading prehistoric or Romano-British field system which extends to the north-east and south-west. Several other angular ditches and pits suggest remains of a settlement or occupation in this location.
Royal Commission aerial reconnaissance on 23rd July 2013 also showed remains of a likely square barrow with a central rectangular grave pit in the adjacent field to the east at SH 2925 2856. Further detailed cropmark recording was carried out on 4th July 2018.
