DisgrifiadNAR SN13NW7
A roughly 46m stretch of rampart and ditch cuts off a blunt promontory about 38m deep, set immediately west of a similarly positioned earthwork (Nprn304045); test excavation within the enclosure identified structural features, thought to represent a circular building; the complex fill of one post-hole, which produced a radio-carbon date calibrated to about 465 AD, was held to suggest ritual activity: a single spuindle-whorl & medieval pottery were also recovered.
