1. Foundry/machine shops, etc. Extensive complex of industrial buildings, of later 19th-20th century dates. Foundry built 1860. Casting ceased 1983.
2. Former 'Railway Works' operated as an engineering works and foundry for over 120 years until its closure in the early 1980s. Its trade was carried on principally through the adjacent railway (Llanidloes Station, nprn 43028) which it outlived by some 20 years. Remarkably, all the buildings standing at the time of closure have survived intact and the site is still in use, although not for its original purpose.
