The icehouse is near the top of a steep slope above four lily ponds, 200m north of the castle (nprn 18504). On the north side a tunnel 6m long and 1m wide leads to the entrance. Only the base of the walls surive but the remains show that it had 3 doors. The dome has now collapsed but was a brick dome without a mound. The internal diameter is 3.6m, the walls are 1.5m thick with yellow brick facing.
