Cofnod Safle

The icehouse was built in the 19th century. It is a tunnel shaped stone vault, built into a slope facing north west and measures 3m x 1.8m, and is 2m high. The slightly sloping single pitch roof of stone slate is now under an earth cover. There is no entrance passage and only one door. Ice was collected from the river Usk.
