Parchmarks visible on the periphery of an air photo (CUAP BYR9) appear to represent a rectangular ditched enclosure with a central pit. The enclosure is in the region of 10-15m across with its corners to the cardinal points. The north-east side cannot be discerned.
The site lies on the crest of a ridge overlooking the Roman military settlement at Caerau (NPRN 92153), 400m to the south-east. Square ditched funerary enclosures or barrows, are characteristic of early medieval burial practice, but also appear in the Roman period.
A roughly similar feature, rather smaller and lacking a central pit, occurs within a larger cropmark enclosure on a ridge top 250m to the south-west (see NPRN 308499).
