Widening of the Llangollen Canal (NPRN 405725) for boats to wait before entering the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct approach embankment (NPRN 405812). This basin marked the terminus of the 1802 canal, until Pontcysyllte Aqueduct was completed in 1805.
